Hollow Cone (Spiral-Type) Nozzle
Product Overview
The hollow cone (spiral-type) nozzle is an industrial spray nozzle that produces a hollow cone spray pattern through a spiral structure. Liquid is discharged under pressure through the voids in the spiral, creating a circular spray pattern. Droplets are slightly coarser than those from other hollow cone nozzles, but the flow rate is extremely high. The compact one-piece design delivers maximum throughput for a given pipe size while providing excellent clog resistance.
How It Works
Liquid enters the nozzle and flows along the spiral channels, exiting through the voids in the spiral. The spiral structure imparts rotational motion to the liquid, and centrifugal force creates a hollow cone spray pattern. With no small internal passages or whirlchambers, droplets are relatively coarser, but the flow path is very smooth and resistant to clogging.
Key Advantages
High Flow Capacity: One-piece spiral design delivers extremely high flow rates in a compact size
Excellent Clog Resistance: No small internal passages, ideal for liquids containing particulate matter
One-Piece Construction: No moving parts, rugged and durable, low maintenance
Wide Spray Angle Range: 50° – 180° for broad coverage
Multiple Material Options: Stainless steel, brass, PP, PVDF, silicon carbide, PTFE, and more
Slightly Coarser Droplets: Reduces drift, suitable for open-space applications
Typical Applications
Dust Suppression: High flow coverage effectively controls dust
Fire Protection: High-flow water mist for rapid cooling and fire suppression
Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD): Corrosion-resistant materials, high-flow spraying
Gas Cooling: High-flow atomization for rapid heat exchange
Chemical Spraying: Scrubber towers, reactor spraying
Wastewater Treatment: Aeration, defoaming
